{Shop ’til ya drop!} Keller, DFW Senior Pictures, killion photography

I have given new meaning to the term “shop ’till ya drop”.  I was leaving the mall this week, and managed to take quite a tumble in the parking lot.  As I was going down, I heard a slight crack, and knew it wasn’t going to be good.  I stumbled to the car, somehow loaded up Holden, the stroller, and all the bags, and like an idiot, started to drive home, convincing myself it wasn’t that bad.  After the pain settled in and the hallucinations began (kidding), I tried calling Jay to meet me at the hospital.  Of course it was the one day he wasn’t glued to his cell.  He was enjoying the Byron Nelson golf tournament, where they confiscate your phone upon entering.  Thank goodness for family nearby, or I would have been out of luck!

I finally made it to the ER, where I was miserably informed that I had indeed fractured my fifth metatarsal.  The long skinny bone that goes from your pinky toe up your foot.  And my favorite part was hearing that I had to go straight home and stay off of it until until I saw the doctor next week.  WHAT?!  Off of it?  Uhhh, I don’t really have the time for this, was my reply!  He didn’t seem to care.  So yes, I am sitting here on the couch, in the exact same spot I’ve been in since we got home on thurs. afternoon.  My rear has left a permanent indention in the cushion, that I’m sure will grow larger and larger, the longer I sit here.  I have sessions left unedited, poor clients that had sessions scheduled for this weekend, and worst of all, I am missing the Nordstrom half-yearly sale!  All those cute shoes, just waiting for me….

So to those of you that have had to either re-schedule or scramble to find another photographer, I am SO sorry!  I hope my referrals were able to help you.  And those of you that are patiently waiting for your images to get edited, they will be done soon.  Thank you for waiting!

Needless to say, I will be out of commission the next couple of weeks.  I’ll still be answering e-mails, calls, and scheduling (and re-scheduling) sessions.  So call me, e-mail me, I’m already bored!

I’ll leave you with a quick peek of a senior session.  We did the majority of the session outdoors, and then he came over to be the first official client in my new studio!  We got some great images and he was SO fun to work with!  These are the first few I’ve gotten to, and am so anxious to get back to working on the rest!  Hope you like, and I promise they will be done before graduation!  Haha!

Whew…what a weekend!  Holden turned 2 yesterday, so we celebrated all day with family and friends.  I think we all woke-up today with a birthday party hangover.  But it was well worth it.  Holden had so much fun!  I of course took tons of pictures, so I’ll share some later this week when I get to go through them all.

In the meantime, I want to share a few images of this beautiful girl I got to shoot.  I had so much fun at this session, and we got some really great images.  I’ve just had the chance to go through a few of them and can’t wait to go through the rest!

I love it when my seniors bring lots of clothes for me to go through!  This 2010 senior girl brought me more than I could have ever imagined! We had shoes, hats, scarves, jewelry, and TONS of fun outfits to choose from! Not to mention, she’s quite involved in the theatre dept. at her school, so she was totally comfy in front of the camera.  We had so much fun exploring around town.   Thanks to mom for helping us put together all her outfits!

Do you ever make a “to-do” list and add a few things on there that you’ve already done  just so you can mark them off and make yourself feel good about getting stuff on “your list” done?  Yeah, I figured it was just me that did that….

I confess, I’m a chronic list maker.  My family would tell you that I’m super organized and a little over-the-top about having everything in it’s “spot” and getting things done in a timely manner.  They think I’m just way organized and on top of things, but truth be told, I’m quite the opposite!  My brain is all over the place all day long.  The reason I’m so “organized” is that I have to be! Otherwise, my brain would never be able to remember where I’d laid my cell phone down last.  I call my husband as least twice a week asking him to call my phone so I can remember where I laid it.  Let’s see, this week I found it in a shoe in my closet and the silverware drawer in the kitchen.  Yeah, don’t ask me how they got there.  You will rarely catch me without a “to-do” list or something important written on my hand.  I HAVE to be super organized or my life would fall apart since I’m not naturally that way.  Anyways, just finished my list for tomorrow and make a new blog post was on there.  That’s one marked off!

I had the most fun with this beautiful soon to be senior girl this afternoon.  She’s adorable and has the best personality.  We set off to get some urban ballerina shots, but found this little hide-away in the roses and had to stop.  I think I like it the best! The post-proccesing is a bit different for me, but I think it gives it a magical feel.

So my poor blog has been quite neglected lately.  You’re probably wondering if I’m even still around.  Well, yes I am….I think I am.  We have been house hunting and trying to sell our current house the past few months.  Trying to keep a clean house with a one year old = NOT FUN!  Anyways, thankfully it’s all over.  We sold our house and are moving in 2 weeks!  Yikes, we’ve got a lot of packing to do!  And my house is the messiest it’s ever been and I don’t care!  I’ll keep ya posted on the moving process.

In the mean time, I got to meet up with the coolest girl on Sunday.  Cortney is the owner of ketchthespirit.com, an on-line boutique specializing in totally fun and unique gameday wear from your favorite college.  She needed some pictures for her website and new business, and I was lucky enough to get to capture them!  It was a bit chilly, but she toughed it out and didn’t complain once.  We got so many great shots of her!  Thanks for a fun day Cortney!

Isn’t she gorgeous?!

This was the last shot of the day and one of my favorites!
