I have given new meaning to the term “shop ’till ya drop”.  I was leaving the mall this week, and managed to take quite a tumble in the parking lot.  As I was going down, I heard a slight crack, and knew it wasn’t going to be good.  I stumbled to the car, somehow loaded up Holden, the stroller, and all the bags, and like an idiot, started to drive home, convincing myself it wasn’t that bad.  After the pain settled in and the hallucinations began (kidding), I tried calling Jay to meet me at the hospital.  Of course it was the one day he wasn’t glued to his cell.  He was enjoying the Byron Nelson golf tournament, where they confiscate your phone upon entering.  Thank goodness for family nearby, or I would have been out of luck!

I finally made it to the ER, where I was miserably informed that I had indeed fractured my fifth metatarsal.  The long skinny bone that goes from your pinky toe up your foot.  And my favorite part was hearing that I had to go straight home and stay off of it until until I saw the doctor next week.  WHAT?!  Off of it?  Uhhh, I don’t really have the time for this, was my reply!  He didn’t seem to care.  So yes, I am sitting here on the couch, in the exact same spot I’ve been in since we got home on thurs. afternoon.  My rear has left a permanent indention in the cushion, that I’m sure will grow larger and larger, the longer I sit here.  I have sessions left unedited, poor clients that had sessions scheduled for this weekend, and worst of all, I am missing the Nordstrom half-yearly sale!  All those cute shoes, just waiting for me….

So to those of you that have had to either re-schedule or scramble to find another photographer, I am SO sorry!  I hope my referrals were able to help you.  And those of you that are patiently waiting for your images to get edited, they will be done soon.  Thank you for waiting!

Needless to say, I will be out of commission the next couple of weeks.  I’ll still be answering e-mails, calls, and scheduling (and re-scheduling) sessions.  So call me, e-mail me, I’m already bored!

I’ll leave you with a quick peek of a senior session.  We did the majority of the session outdoors, and then he came over to be the first official client in my new studio!  We got some great images and he was SO fun to work with!  These are the first few I’ve gotten to, and am so anxious to get back to working on the rest!  Hope you like, and I promise they will be done before graduation!  Haha!

FINALLY!  I am really over the rain and all these cloudy days.  Don’t get me wrong, I can definitely appreciate a a good book on a rainy Sat., but enough is enough.  I keep planning all these shoots involving sunsets and my favorite field for sunflare, and the rain and clouds just keep making me change my plans.  So we had to forego the field yet again, and stuck with our urban plans.  But I can’t complain too much, this beautiful girl had the best smile and her mom and I had fun getting her to “pose” for us!   Plus, she brought super fun clothes for me to go through!

I knew I was going to enjoy this session as soon as mom called and said she had just ordered the cutest little dress from Chasing Fireflies.  They have the most adorable little dresses for girls!  We had planned to do a sunset shoot to add to magic of her favorite fairy costume, but with all the rain lately, it didn’t quite happen.  So we went to plan B, and I’m glad we did, because I LOVE the images we got from this shoot.  She is the cutest little girl and we had fun chasing the elves in the forest together!  Hope you enjoy your sneak peek!

Happy Birthday My Little Monkey!

Holden turned 2 last weekend.  I meant to blog some pictures earlier in the week, but all of a sudden it’s Friday and I have no idea where the week went! As soon as Holden woke-up on Sat., he knew it was a special day.  There were presents, balloons, and all kinds of fun looking things around.  And most of all there was a strange man in the backyard blowing up a huge bounce house! He stood at the window and watched wide-eyed until it was all done.  And then Jay and I got to sit in the bounce house for the next 3 hours!  After nap time, all of his friends came over and we played and partied and had so much fun.  He walked around all day with a big smile saying, “birthday” in the cutest little voice.  I think he’s starting to understand that birthday’s are special!  Here are some of my favorite moments….

My absolute favorite of the day!

Ah yeah….that was some good cake…

What is this on my head?!

Holden and his Pop, snuck into the cake before the guests arrived.  I’m still not sure whose idea it was!

A birthday kiss from Lola!

And some fun party details…

Whew…what a weekend!  Holden turned 2 yesterday, so we celebrated all day with family and friends.  I think we all woke-up today with a birthday party hangover.  But it was well worth it.  Holden had so much fun!  I of course took tons of pictures, so I’ll share some later this week when I get to go through them all.

In the meantime, I want to share a few images of this beautiful girl I got to shoot.  I had so much fun at this session, and we got some really great images.  I’ve just had the chance to go through a few of them and can’t wait to go through the rest!
