Killion Photography Blog bio picture

Welcome

Hi there! Welcome to the Killion Photography blog. My name is Jackie and I'm a photographer in DFW, TX who specializes in creating lifestyle portraits for families, children, seniors, and couples. This is the place where I get to feature images from some of my latest sessions and share my friends and family with you.

My blog is a more relaxed place and I hope you'll visit often to see what's happening! There's a place to leave comments at the end of each post. I love reading them so I hope you'll share your thoughts before jetting off!

If you're interested in booking a session, or want to see more of my portfolio, just click on the "Website" link above. Thanks for visiting!

I really don’t think it’s possible for this girl to take a bad picture.  She is absolutely gorgeous and I had such a hard time going through her pictures from our shoot.  I wanted to edit them all.  They were all amazing!  Julianne and her mom are super close and I had a great time with them.  It’s so nice when moms come along and add to the excitement and fun.  I had a fun day with you girls and can’t wait for you to see them all!

Don’t kill me Julianne, but this is my favorite of the day….so sassy!

There are a few people in this world that I like to refer to as the “lemonade” people.   You know….those people you encounter every so often that are just joyful.  You can just see it in their eyes that it doesn’t matter what kind of day they’re having or what life throws at them, they are going to make the best of it.  Life gives you lemons and you make lemonade, we’ve all heard that.  but it is rare that you meet someone that you know will actually do it.  Katie, you are a beautiful girl with a wonderful spirit.  I can’t wait to see what you do with your life, I know you will accomplish great things with your “lemonade” outlook on life!

Welcome Back!

Yea!  The season is starting back up again.  I got the chance to take the past few months off to get some rest and spend time with my family.  I also took advantage of the time to make some changes to Killion Photography and get some new products ready for this year.  We’ve got some exciting new products.  I can’t wait to show everyone!  The biggest announcement of the year is that I will no longer be taking children or families.  I just love seniors so much that I’ve decided to just concentrate on them.  It is truly amazing to me that I get to do exactly what I love.  Thank you to all my seniors last year and all the fun I had with you.  I’m looking forward to meeting many more of you this year!  This was my first week back, so be on the look out for some new blog posts this week.

We are currently almost all booked up for the spring this year.  I do have a few openings left in May, so give us a call if you want to reserve a date in May.  We are also starting to book for the Class of 2011.  Dates do book up fast so it’s never too early to save your spot.  We already have some spots booked for the fall!

I’ll leave you with one of my recent favorites of my husband and son….

“On Holiday…”

Why is it that the Europeans have all these super cool phrases and words that make our everyday statements seem so blah and theirs so glamorous?  Like how when they’re going on vacation or just taking a break from work they say, “I’m going on holiday”.  Somehow saying that I’m taking a break for a bit doesn’t sound nearly as exciting as saying that I’m on holiday.  So that’s what I’ll say for a bit when people ask.  If you call or send me an e-mail, I’ll reply with “I’m sorry, I”m on holiday right now”.  Then you’ll wonder what kinds of fabulous things I’m doing and places I’m going.  Nevermind that I’m probably sitting in my pajamas with a big piece of chocolate divine cake (from my favorite OKC bakery La Baguette) watching romantic comedies while shopping on the internet (like I did tonight).  Maybe it sounds pathetic, but after working like I did this fall, it’s pretty glamorous to me!  I’ll leave you with a few family pics of us and will post some more in a few days, if I can get off my beloved spot in the couch that is.

Me, my sweet husband, and my incredibly adorable little Holden…

One of my favorites of him.  He’s always so happy like this!

I’ve actually really been enjoying all this cold weather lately.  Makes it feel more like Christmas!  But this weekend was another story.  Poor Evan was practically shaking throughout most of her shoot.  We would cover her in puffy coats in between shots for a little warm-up.  I was so worried that we would have to stop and wouldn’t be able to finish, but she stuck with it will the end and we ended up with some amazing images.  You’d never guess that she was freezing to death in most of these!
